Mediskation is owned and operated by a sole designer / developer, Victor A. Harris, and has been designing/building visual material and web experiences since 1996 / 2003, respectively. The design work has mostly revolved around logo creation and printed material (full spread newspaper ads, posters, tri-folds, 3×5 handouts, and business cards). The websites built have been focused in the artistic field — working with musicians, painters, choreographers, photographers, graphic designers, architects, creative directors and fashion designers. However, the extent of work reaches far beyond to include skateboard companies, furniture companies, app developers, IT professionals, fashion magazines, and advertising organizations.
I never attained to be a “jack of all trades”, but when you enter an industry before it’s considered an industry you tend to learn how all the cogs work independently and as a system.
Besides developing visual and web experiences, Victor has also taken to inspiring upcoming designers and developers to think about content in personal, fresh, and engaging ways. Victor has taught fundamental Design Principles, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and WordPress for over 3 years at continuing education schools, as well as in small groups and one-on-one. To Victor, learning is the cornerstone of fresh ideas and problem solving.
The internet is, essentially, a way to connect and inspire through visual methods. As such, the goal of Mediskation has always been to take existing or newly created content and present it to visitors in such a way as to immerse them within the ideas/work/direction/message so it remains with them far after the visual/web experience.
